Route2Roots is a 9 Piece Hiphop collective from the south coast.

The outfit is made up of 4 emcees over a live band, bringing together a wide variety of musical influences since 2006. Originally an open mic night for emcees to cipher in a small underground circuit, the format quickly grew across venues and created a vibrant scene that attracted a large audience from all walks of life, providing a platform for emcees, singers, and musicians to interact.

An authentic style coupled with their captivating live performances led to high profile support slots with Public Enemy, Wu Tang Clan, Guru, Dead Prez, Talib Kweli, Krs One, Pharoe Monche, Chali 2na, Akil the mc (jurassic5) Ugly Duckling, Jehst, Task Force, High Focus, J-Live and more…

Grounded by a creative work ethic, rooted in live performance, Route2Roots are still tearing down venues across the UK and entertaining festival crowds. After the success of the first album ‘Grounded’, which was self funded and independently produced, Route2Roots are now writing fresh new material, pushing boundaries and crossing divides.
