A NST Laboratory event
05 December, 2017
Grapevine is our informal networking evening, held quarterly at NST. The evening presents an opportunity to meet with other artists as well as members of NST's creative team.
At this Grapevine we host a conversation with writer Vinay Patel, as he talks about his writing process and experiences. This evening will be of interest to anyone keen to learn more about writing, and working in theatre in general.
Vinay’s debut play, True Brits, premiered at Edinburgh Fringe 2014, and transferred to the Bush Theatre’s RADAR Festival. His next play, Free Fall was nominated for three Off West End Awards.
Vinay’s television debut Murdered By My Father was commissioned for BBC3. It won a Royal Television Society award and was nominated for three BAFTAs. It won the BAFTA for best Leading Actor (Adeel Akhtar) and Vinay was named a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit for his work on the film.
He is currently developing work for the National Theatre, Bush Theatre and the BBC.
Grapevine is hosted by our Artistic Development programme, Laboratory at NST – a creative hub for development, exploration and discovery. To find out more or if you are an artist looking to build a relationship with NST, please click here.
