Celia Imrie is one of the most well-known faces of British comedy having appeared in hit movies The Best and Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotels, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Calendar Girls, Nanny McPhee, St Trinians, Absolutely Fabulous, Finding Your Feet and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Her TV credits include Doctor Who, Lewis, Cranford, Absolutely Fabulous and of course a long association with Victoria Wood, including starring in Dinnerladies and Acorn Antiques. On stage, King Lear, Noises Off and Hay Fever as well as reprieving her role as Miss Babs in the Acorn Antiques in the musical adaptation, going on to win an Olivier Award for her performance.
Most recently she appeared in Party Time and Celebration in the historic Pinter season at The Pinter Theatre.
Celia has effortlessly made the transition from actress to author, with her debut novel Not Quite Nice spending six weeks in the Sunday Times Top Ten, also reaching number 5 in the Apple iBook chart and 8 in Amazon’s book chart. Her second novel Nice Work (If you Can Get It) was published in February 2016 and her third, Sail Away in February 2018. Her next novel A Nice Cup Of Tea is due for release Summer this year.
