Samuel is a musical director, composer and arranger from London. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and received an honours degree in Composition with jazz piano.
Arranging, orchestration and musical direction work has included Amelie (UK Tour/The Other Palace); Anything Goes (The Other Palace); De Broadway a Hollywood (Festival Jardins Pedralbes); Now That’s What I Call Brexit / Trump the Musical (Edinburgh Fringe Festival); The Last Days of Anne Boleyn (Tower of London); West End Does Christmas (Cadogan Hall); Spring Awakening (Frogmore Paper Mill); Romeo and Juliet (Secret Cinema).
Samuel is the conductor of both the GSMD Pops Orchestra and the UCL Jazz Society Big Band, and co-runs the band ‘The B-Side Project’. He has also conducted the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for a private function.
As a composer, he has had commissions performed at St. John’s Smith Square, Milton Court Concert Hall and the Boston Opera Collective’s ‘Opera Bites’ festival. Since 2017 he has also been composer-in-residence with the City Chamber Choir.
Samuel lives in Leyton with his wife Sara and is the music co-ordinator for Crossway Stratford, a church plant in East London.
