You carry a mobile phone with you everywhere. It allows you to communicate with others no matter where you are. But what if it was able to talk for itself? What would it say? What would it do? And how would you feel about it?
“Connected” is a dystopian spoken word play that explores what could happen if mobile phones became sentient and how that would affect society. Structured as a timeline from the first mobile phone call in 1973 to a society dependent on phones in 2125, the show aims to challenge your perception of the phone’s role in your life and the possible reason as to why it has become indispensable.
