Mix two parts music with a dash of sorrow and joy for a scrumptious evening.
Wedding bells peal and we all know that’s the start of happy ever after, right? Except, in Isabella Beeton’s case it’s not. As she finds herself being swept down into the turmoil of her husband’s publishing company losses, Isabella has to decide what’s worth fighting for. Mrs Beeton explores how the Victorian construct, that a woman’s place is in the home, was beautifully aided and abetted by Isabella, the no-nonsense, workaholic, trouser-wearing, recipe-stealing, journalistic brain behind Mrs Beeton’s Book of Household Management. Discover who Isabella was before she became the matronly figure of our imaginations. This bold and startling musical about finding your place in the world is the perfect treat for all the women in your life, and a couple of well discerning men too. This is a script in hand performance of a work in progress performed by students from the University of Chichester Conservatoire.
