Here at Nuffield Southampton Theatres we want to make your visit to the theatre and Southampton as enjoyable as possible. There’s plenty to see and do in Southampton and the surrounding areas of Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and West Sussex.
If you’re here to enjoy the arts and culture you’re in for a treat. Within walking distance of Southampton City Centre you’ll find the O2 Guildhall in Guildhall Square and the Mayflower Theatre on Commercial Road.
Just a short distance out of Southampton you can visit the theatre at The Point in Eastleigh or head towards Ocean Village and enjoy the cinema at Harbour Lights.
There are also fantastic art galleries and museums in Southampton that you can explore whilst visiting. The SeaCity Museum brings maritime history to life through Southampton’s connection to the Titanic and Southampton City Art Gallery and John Hansard Gallery offer popular locations to view a variety of art collections.
Southampton is also the cruise capital of the UK, so whether you’re visiting for a short stopover or a longer stay, there’s plenty to explore whilst you’re here.
If you wish to explore more of Hampshire but still take in the arts, there are two theatres in Portsmouth; The Kings Theatre and New Theatre Royal, both offering a variety of shows and performances. You could also visit Portsmouth Historic Dockyard to take in some of the Naval history of the city.
If you plan on traveling out of Hampshire to explore the cultural attractions of West Sussex, Chichester Festival Theatre provides a vast selection of theatrical work throughout the year.
